What to expect

Day 1 : Tunis / Matmata / Douz / Tembaine

The first day of this travel program starts with a departure from your accommodation to Matmata, a city situated amidst a landscape of hills and valleys. Matmata is known for its unique troglodyte houses, which are homes carved into the rock. You will have the opportunity to visit these houses and experience the local way of life.

After exploring Matmata, the journey continues towards the village of Tamezret, where you will visit its museum and learn about the local history and culture. From Tamezret, the trip proceeds towards Douz, also known as “the gateway to the Sahara”. In Douz, you will have the option to go on a camel ride or a quad to explore the majestic sand dunes.

Lunch will be served in a local restaurant in Douz, where you will have the chance to taste traditional Tunisian cuisine and enjoy the local hospitality. before heading to the Tirini camp where you will have dinner and spend the evening around a campfire. You will spend the night in a traditional tent, enjoying the peacefulness of the desert and the starry sky.

Tembaine

Wake up to a delicious breakfast on your second day of the tour. You’ll start with a 4×4 excursion to explore the Tembaine mountains and visit the local wells. Then, you’ll embark on an exhilarating journey through the majestic dunes of Tembaine, where you can immerse yourself in the beauty of the Sahara. After returning to the camp, you’ll enjoy a satisfying lunch and have some free time to relax or take an optional quad bike ride through the dunes. As the sun sets, you’ll gather around a cozy campfire to enjoy a delicious dinner and soak up the stunning starry skies of the Sahara. Spend the night in the camp’s comfortable tents, surrounded by the serene beauty of the desert. It’s a day filled with excitement and relaxation that you won’t soon forget.

Day 3 : Tembaine / Douz / Kébili / Tunis

On the final day of the tour, wake up to a delicious breakfast before departing Tembaine and heading towards Douz, passing through Jbil. Once you arrive in Douz, you’ll have the opportunity to take an optional camel ride through the desert, creating lasting memories and experiencing a truly unique adventure. Afterward, you’ll have some free time to explore the city and enjoy lunch on your own. Next, you’ll embark on a journey towards Kebili, where you can admire the stunning scenery of the region. Finally, you’ll head back towards Tunis, where the tour will conclude, marking the end of your unforgettable adventure in The Tunisian Sahara.
