Travel Itinerary
day 1 - Fly to Djerba
Upon your arrival at Djerba Airport, you will be greeted by our team and transferred to your accommodation, where you can settle in and prepare for your Sahara adventure. The remainder of the day is yours to relax, explore your surroundings, and familiarize yourself with the local culture. Whether you choose to unwind by the pool or take a stroll through the vibrant streets, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to make the most of your time in Djerba.
Day 2 - Ksar Hallouf / Toujene / Matmata / Tamezret
The day begins with a delicious breakfast before departing from Djerba to visit Ksar Hallouf, a magnificent fortified granary that has been standing for centuries. Along the way, there will be a stop at the Berber village of Toujene, where visitors can take photos and learn about the traditional way of life in this ancient community.
The journey continues to Matmata, where visitors can explore the fascinating Underground Troglodyte structures, homes, and caves that have been carved into the rocky landscape over the centuries. After the visit, lunch will be served in a Berber underground restaurant, where visitors can savor traditional Tunisian cuisine in an authentic setting.
After lunch, the group will depart to visit the troglodyte hotel of Sidi Idriss, where scenes from the famous Star Wars movie were filmed. This iconic location offers a unique glimpse into the world of science fiction, while also showcasing the unique architecture and heritage of southern Tunisia.
As the day comes to an end, the group will stay overnight and enjoy dinner at Dar Ayed Tamezret, a charming guesthouse located in a traditional Berber village. With its warm hospitality and picturesque surroundings, Dar Ayed Tamezret offers a perfect opportunity to immerse oneself in the beauty and culture of southern Tunisia.
